Well, today we are bringing you the story of someone who has been a part of the organization’s IT team for quite some time now; Jenil Shah; the backbone of the IT Administrator here at CoinDCX.
No sooner than we hear the words IT and Security, that we start imagining a world of bewitching hackers busy in their dark basements and men in trench coats with code names; very Matrix sort of a scenario. Of course, the truth is far less intimidating than that; but we can still think of the situation as a James Bond movie, as soon as our imagination conjures up the imagination wheel when we hear the word “security.”
Lurking around the same scenarios we all go through during college days, Jenil has been little into hardcore studying and a lot more into technology bit. Ever since his college days, he has been working in the administration sector of his first organization. It is during that phase that he learned the core values that an IT administrator has to keep in mind! Patience and being politely available for every tiny bit of requirement that comes from the employees of any organization.

Being a part of a brand that focuses on one of the asset classes, security comes as a topmost priority for all of us. The integral part being the IT team. Jenil’s story at CoinDCX started from taking care of the procurement procedure to handling the administration to supporting the Info Sec team and finally helping out all the employees with their daily hurdles with their systems.
Understanding Security and IT at CoinDCX
Being in a sector that is still mostly explorative for its users, having to keep track of the assets and adding new security layers to the employee systems is a task like no other. Starting from taking care of the cybersecurity measures to making sure that the security guardrails are maintained regularly, the IT team along with Jenil works relentlessly. While still very new to CoinDCX, Jenil took up the task of installing new security measures for all of the employees; one person at a time.
It comes as a very common aspect that when we talk about security measures, no matter how tech savvy one is (on mobile) something lets the fear of making a mess creep in when it comes to company assets or cyber-security measures. To describe how an IT task takes place within CoinDCX and how Jenil takes up the task; aligned with our brand competencies.
Task: Installing a Cybersecurity layer for better safeguarding of our brand assets.
Act as an Owner:
The task of installing one software on 400 – 500 systems is not at all an easy task, but to Jenil this task was the most important task for the company and a child issue for him to solve.
Bias for Action:
One of the most important aspects of taking up a task is to be determined to take the necessary action the task demands. For Jenil this was one of the most important aspect as the task demanded time from the employee alongside his daily commitments to his team.
Collaboration:
Being collaborative comes next to how the execution comes to fruition. Jenil’s determination for being ready to put in the work came with being flexible with task management along with the availability of the employee. Daily tasks and BAU cannot be affected due to a deliverable from his end. Thus, Jenil said, keeping in mind the availability, planning the collaboration between the employees has also been an essential part of making the project a success within the given timeline.
Innovative Mindset & Raise the Bar:
While Jenil was sharing his way of navigating his tasks company-wide, we asked him how having an innovative mindset falls into place? To this he replied that it is important to think long-term when working on a collaboration. Why? Because the task is set to leave a memory and an experience that will come to mind the next time a similar task is set to be carried out. Thus, to make sure that the process is easy and quick, keeping an innovative mindset in order to raise the bar of how the team functions across the company is important.
Think Customer First & We Over Me:
Being a customer first organization comes with the employees being the customer when Jenil is conducting his tasks. During the tenure of the task, it is extremely important for him to understand the comfort level of the employee, be patient and clear with his instructions and keep an open mind. Technology has a different level of clarity for every individual. So it is always to understand their understanding first and give the instructions accordingly. Even more so in a hybrid or WFH model.
So, the “secret” is out. This is how the IT operations team and Jenil work for the employees at CoinDCX. For them to be safe and sound with their equipment and be assured of solutions for any technical challenges that they might face. The IT Operations team thus, operates just like any other function, with a security strategy approach in mind, based on various levels of technological understanding of individuals.
