Wait, what exactly is a mainnet token swap?
“Mainnet token swap may seem pretty complicated but honestly, it isn’t!”
Simply, all ERC20 tokens including EOS and TRX have borrowed the already developed Ethereum blockchain(and all its features and infrastructure, of course) to support their project initially. Now as they progress ahead in their journey, they are simply moving onto their own blockchain. This process of moving on is done for various reasons like being able to develop features specific for your own token, product differentiation from Ethereum network as a project and developing more features which ethereum blockchain may not be able to support.
EOS Mainnet Swap- What needs to be done?
Deposit your ERC20 (tokens based on Ethereum blockchain) EOS tokens in your CoinDCX Pro wallets by 11:59 PM (23:59) on 30th May and you are done! That’s all you need to do to get your native EOS tokens. We’ll deal with everything else 😃
Continue to freely trade EOS/BTC and EOS/ETH during the entire course of mainnet swap as the trading will remain unaffected.
Note: You won’t be able to deposit ERC20 EOS tokens after above mentioned time and date as we will freeze deposit and withdrawals of EOS till the time network stabilizes. You will be credited with equal amount of EOS mainnet tokens as your ERC20 EOS holdings in your CoinDCX Pro wallet and you could deposit and withdraw the same after successful migration to EOS mainnet.
In case you hold EOS in your personal ethereum wallet, you need to enroll your address on EOS smart contract on or before June 1 UTC to ensure your ERC20 EOS tokens are swapped to newer native EOS tokens. Visit EOS.io to know more on this.
