XDC Network gained 8.1% over the trailing 24 hours to trade at $0.0348 on 22 October 2026, as daily trading volume roughly tripled to $25 million following an international partnership agreement. The rebound lifted XDC to a market capitalization of $749 million, recovering losses from earlier in the week to sit up 1.75% over the past seven days. While this XDC price surge followed three corporate entities signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore cross-border yen stablecoin settlements between Japan and South Korea, the initiative remains in an exploratory phase without a live commercial product or confirmed launch date.
Cross-Border Payments Agreement on XDC
Three companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on October 21 to explore cross-border payments and in-store purchases between Japan and South Korea. The payments would use a yen stablecoin, a digital token designed to hold the value of one Japanese yen, on XDC Network. The three companies are:
- SBI XDC Network APAC, a joint venture between Japan’s SBI Group and the XDC Network team
- SBI’s crypto trading business in Japan
- Shinhan Card, one of South Korea’s largest card issuers
The MoU is an agreement to explore these payments, and no payment product is live yet. XDC Network’s announcement does not name the stablecoin or give a launch date.

XDC Network Announcements and Price Action
The agreement followed three other XDC announcements the week before. On October 14, a major US retail trading app listed XDC for eligible customers. On October 15, XDC Network chose Concordium, an identity-focused blockchain, to verify the people and businesses behind AI agents that make payments on its XDC AI marketplace. On October 16, money transfer company MoneyGram joined XDC as a validator, one of the companies that run the network and confirm its transactions.
Despite these developments, secondary market pricing declined throughout the prior week, falling to an interim trough near $0.032 on 20 October before reversing on the yen stablecoin disclosure.
What XDC’s 8% Gain Means for Traders
XDC is up only 1.75% over seven days. The XDC price surge on October 22 mostly recovered the week’s earlier losses, and XDC now trades close to its price at the start of the week.
Supply mechanics present an important variable: approximately 21.5 billion tokens circulate out of 38.1 billion total issued tokens, with CoinMarketCap listing no hard maximum supply ceiling. The uncirculated float of roughly 16.6 billion tokens creates a fully diluted valuation of $1.32 billion, roughly 1.8 times the current market capitalization. Because nearly 44% of the existing supply remains uncirculated, secondary market absorption must eventually account for future float distributions.
