Moving into the Web3 world has come with so much more than just a normal transition to an evolved space. The world now has the blockchain technology giving us the floor to explore decentralized apps and the decentralized space along with extending its use cases for sustainable projects! Starting with the newer initiations that the global institution are all exploring, it comes not as a shock but an excitement to the crypto community when MetaMask’s parent company ConsenSys announced that users will now be able to transfer and buy the ETH token via PayPal.
This service from ConsenSys will initially be rolled out to some selected PayPal users who are within or based in the United States. The announcement said that they have chosen this segment of users for the functionality as the country is one of the largest markets of MetaMask in terms of users.

This collaboration between MetaMask and PayPal has been worked upon with the intent to allow users a seamless way of purchasing and transferring their ETH from PayPal to MetaMask. They can do so by simply logging onto their MetaMask App. Once logged in, it will then redirect them to their PayPal account to complete the transactions. The announcement from ConsenSys also mentioned that this MetaMask and PayPal integration is the latest in a series of announcements that is to come. All the initiatives are aiming to improve and diversify payment options for users within the MetaMask mobile app.
The product manager for MetaMask, Lorenzo Santos said, “This integration with PayPal will allow our U.S. users to not just buy crypto seamlessly through MetaMask, but also to easily explore the Web3 ecosystem.”

How to use PayPal within MetaMask
In order to add crypto to your MetaMask wallet with PayPal; follow the following 5 step process.
- Login into the Mobile MetaMask App.
- Click or tap on the Buy button, then select ‘PayPal’
- Enter the desired dollar amount worth of ETH to add to your wallet; you will be redirected to PayPal to log in
- Buy your crypto via PayPal, or if you have enough ETH to complete the transaction, send it without buying more.
- Done! You have successfully bought crypto directly in MetaMask and can now explore Web3 easily on the go.
