Ethereum’s first Mainnet Shadow Fork goes live
The first mainnet shadow fork of Ethereum went live yesterday as the developers of Ethereum continue their work to migrate to the proof-of-stake mechanism from proof-of-work. According to Paritosh Jayanthi, an Ethereum Foundation Developer, the shadow fork is a way to stress-test the assumptions across the state growth and syncing. This shall also provide the developers a way to check whether the assumptions actually work on the existing testnet or not.

DeFi giant Uniswap launches venture arm to invest in various crypto companies
Uniswap lab, the parent company behind the decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Uniswap has launched a venture capital arm to start its investments in Web3 projects. Uniswap Labs Ventures is a new division that shall invest in companies working on Web3 across various stages.
The investments shall directly be made to the balance sheet of the company although the amount that shall be shared has not been disclosed yet. Uniswap has already invested in 11 companies across the Web3 ecosystem before coming up with this dedicated venture arm.

NBA files trademark applications to create unique NFTs
NBA has decided to expand its metaverse presence. According to Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney, the league filed a trademark claim for the phrase “The ASSOCIATION” on April 6. The documents indicate that NBA plans to convert trading cards, game tickets, programs, and other memorabilia into NFTs.
