Hyperliquid advanced 16.7% over the trailing seven days to trade near $90.89 on 30 October 2026, lifting its circulating market capitalization to approximately $23 billion as daily spot and derivatives volume expanded 316% to $3.4 billion.
The rally followed an announcement from Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), revealing plans to build and operate an onshore, regulated US retail perpetual futures marketplace powered by Hyperliquid’s infrastructure in partnership with market deployer Trade[XYZ]. While the institutional validation pushed HYPE to within 7% of its all-time high of $97.98, the planned venue remains subject to regulatory approvals from US agencies, arriving just ahead of a scheduled monthly vesting unlock on 6 November.
The ICE and Trade[XYZ] Partnership Structure
ICE signed a deal with Trade[XYZ], a company that runs futures markets on Hyperliquid for stocks, stock indices, commodities and currencies. Under the agreement, ICE will operate a new US market and clearing system for retail traders, built on Hyperliquid’s network. It would offer perpetual futures, which are futures contracts with no expiry date, on crypto, stocks, commodities and currencies.
Customers would reach the market through regulated futures brokers after passing identity checks. ICE also plans to offer the markets through its joint venture with a global crypto exchange, in which ICE invested earlier this year. ICE is taking a minority stake in Trade[XYZ] as well, and has not disclosed its size.
ICE Chair and CEO Jeffrey Sprecher said, “We see these perp markets as additive to our futures markets, not a replacement for them.” The plan requires approval from US regulators, and no launch date has been set.
How the Deal Connects to the HYPE Token
Hyperliquid lets outside companies launch their own futures markets on its network, and Trade[XYZ] builds its markets this way. Each company that does so must first stake 500,000 HYPE, which locks the tokens as a guarantee. Validators, the operators who run the network, can take part or all of that stake if the company’s markets cause outages or errors.
The requirement is set per company, so one stake of 500,000 HYPE covers every market that company runs. Extra trading on Trade[XYZ]’s markets does not raise the amount of HYPE it must stake. At today’s price, 500,000 HYPE is worth about $45 million.
What HYPE Traders Should Watch Before November 6
HYPE trades about 7% below its record of $97.98, set on September 23, according to CoinMarketCap.

About 9.92 million HYPE are scheduled to unlock for core contributors on November 6, worth about $900 million at today’s price. That is the monthly amount set by Hyperliquid’s release schedule, but recipients have claimed far less in past months. Unlock tracker Tokenomist recorded monthly claims of between about 140,000 and 1.75 million HYPE from November 2025 to March 2026. Crypto news outlet ChainCatcher reported on October 28 that Hyperliquid team members said 180,000 HYPE would be distributed to the team on November 6.
About 253.6 million of HYPE’s 950.4 million tokens are in circulation. The fully diluted value, which is the price multiplied by all 950.4 million tokens, is $86.4 billion, about 3.7 times the market cap.
Where Hyperliquid (HYPE) Stands After the ICE Announcement
HYPE trades near $91, up about 16% over the week of ICE’s announcement. The ICE market has no launch date and still needs US regulatory approval, and HYPE’s next scheduled supply event is the November 6 core contributor unlock.

FAQs
1. Why is Hyperliquid (HYPE) up today?
Hyperliquid (HYPE) gained 16.7% over the past week to trade near $90.89 following an announcement on 29 October 2026 that Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, partnered with Trade[XYZ] to develop a regulated US retail perpetual futures market utilizing Hyperliquid's blockchain rails.
2. What is Hyperliquid (HYPE)?
Hyperliquid is an application-specific Layer-1 blockchain built for decentralized derivatives trading, featuring native on-chain order books for perpetual contracts and allowing third-party developers to launch independent financial markets upon staking a mandatory bond of 500,000 HYPE.
3. When is the next Hyperliquid (HYPE) unlock?
The next scheduled Hyperliquid (HYPE) token unlock takes place on 6 November 2026, with an administrative maximum of 9.92 million tokens allocated for core contributors, though historical data and recent team disclosures indicate that actual liquid distributions for the period are projected at approximately 180,000 HYPE.
4. Is Hyperliquid (HYPE) a good investment?
Whether Hyperliquid (HYPE) is a good investment depends on a trader’s goals and tolerance for losses, and it is high risk. While the network commands strong decentralized perpetual market share and benefits from institutional partnerships like the ICE agreement, it is a high-volatility asset where only ~27% of its 950.4 million maximum token cap circulates, and the proposed US exchange venue remains contingent upon federal regulatory clearance.
