StonkFun generated $1,508,195 in protocol revenue on 6 September 2026, surpassing both Pump.fun and Hyperliquid for a single session just five weeks after its launch. Approximately $904,500 of that intake was deployed directly into open-market buybacks of its native token, STONK. While the milestone highlights shifting dynamics in decentralized token creation, broader 30-day metrics show that Pump.fun continues to hold 64.2% of cumulative launchpad revenue across the sector, compared to StonkFun’s 7.58% share.
What StonkFun Earned on 6 September
StonkFun recorded $1,508,195 in single-day protocol revenue on 6 September, ranking sixth among all tracked crypto protocols behind Tether, Circle, GMGN, Pons, and fomo. The performance temporarily displaced incumbent launchpad Pump.fun as well as perpetuals DEX Hyperliquid.
Having launched on 3 August 2026, StonkFun achieved this intake milestone on its 34th day of operation. Roughly 60% of that session’s earnings, close to $904,500, was channeled directly into automated buybacks and burns of STONK, creating significant programmatic buying pressure during peak platform volume.
Over 30 Days, Pump.fun Retains Market Dominance
Despite StonkFun’s single-day surge, longer-term market distribution remains heavily tilted toward established protocols. Aggregated figures from 9 August to 7 September show Pump. fun commanding 64.20% of three-way launchpad revenue, while Robinhood Chain launchpad Pons captured 28.21% and StonkFun accounted for 7.58%. Over the entire month, Pump.fun produced approximately 8.5 times the total fee volume of StonkFun.
StonkFun was not even the first challenger this month. Pons, the leading launchpad on Robinhood Chain, overtook Pump.fun on 2 September with $1.1 million, four days earlier, and holds nearly four times StonkFun’s 30-day share.
The Mechanics of Stock-Paired Token Pricing
StonkFun lets users launch tokens paired against tokenized equities instead of SOL or a stablecoin. Its own STONK token is paired with SPYx, a Backed Finance product tracking the S&P 500 through the SPDR ETF.
A token’s dollar price then reflects two things at once, the value of SPYx and its own exchange rate against SPYx, so the token can fall even while the ETF rises. Holders get no claim on the underlying shares, and xStocks products carry no ownership or voting rights.
The Buyback Flywheel Funding the Bid
A portion of trading fees from StonkFun’s v3 liquidity pools is dedicated to buying and burning the platform’s ten largest tokens by market capitalization. These automated purchases are weighted by market cap and execute every few minutes, with 78 different tokens bought and burned to date.
Cumulative STONK buybacks have now surpassed $1 million. However, this price-support mechanism only works while platform volume holds up, because the bid is funded entirely by the transaction fees that active trading generates.
The Whale Who Bought the 33% Dip
A wallet ending 4Hw4QR pulled 16,976 SOL, worth about $1.76 million, off Binance and bought 9.32 million STONK at an average $0.19. It bought into a drawdown of roughly a third from the 6 September record, with no sign the selling had finished.
STONK subsequently rallied to set a new record high of $0.2234 on 9 September, climbing 49.4% in a single day and over 1,100% across the week. The dip that the whale bought was met by a steady underlying bid that the protocol itself was actively funding.
What This Says About the Next Meme Cycle
LetsBONK.fun overtook Pump.fun in July 2025 and reached 78% of Solana launchpad activity while Pump.fun fell from 80% to 13%. That rivalry ended once Pump.fun launched its own buyback program, which it still runs.
STONK is almost certainly not listed on CoinDCX. The liquid, exchange-traded exposure to this activity is Raydium’s RAY and Jupiter’s JUP, which rose about 46% and 21% respectively on the LaunchLab integration. Bitcoin near $78,400 and repeatedly rejecting $80,000 is the backdrop, since speculative capital moves down the curve when the majors go quiet.
The Risks Worth Naming
Because the underlying bid is buyback-dependent, price support naturally fades whenever platform volume dries up. Most tokens launched on the platform suffer from thin liquidity, and StonkFun publicly acknowledged sniping issues on 2 September, noting that its Raydium integration aims to curb front-running, single-wallet snipes, and high deployment costs.
DefiLlama ranks StonkFun 242nd by total value locked among launchpad protocols. Annualising its 30-day fees of $2.18 million gives roughly $20.37 million, a fraction of the run-rate that a single record day implies.
