Apple event tonight at 10:30 PM IST, first under CEO Ternus. Nebius says compute demand runs into 2028, Dell hits a fresh 52-week high.

            TLDR

            • Apple’s product event tonight at 10:30 PM IST is John Ternus’s first launch as CEO. Lineup: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone.
            • Nebius told the Goldman Sachs Communacopia conference that customer orders now extend into Q1 and Q2 2028, and a recent Blackwell auction cleared 15% to 20% above list.
            • Dell hit a fresh 52-week high yesterday at $538.47, closing $533.88 up 1.86%. The stock is up more than 327% over the past year and joins the S&P 100 on September 21.
            • Wall Street closed lower Tuesday. The Dow fell 628 points, the S&P 500 lost 0.58%, and the Nasdaq slipped 0.32% as oil pushed toward $100 on Middle East tensions.
            • The Fed’s rate decision lands next Wednesday, September 17. Hike-cut odds are a coin flip after last week’s 162,000 August jobs print.

            Market Regime

The tape is squeezed between a fresh AI infrastructure bid and a returning oil-and-rates bid. Dell just printed all-time highs on a $95 billion AI server backlog. Nebius is telling the Goldman Sachs conference that Blackwell auctions cleared 15% to 20% above list price, and customers are already booking Q1 and Q2 2028 capacity. That is the strongest visibility statement the AI-cloud complex has offered since the CoreWeave-Nvidia deal in January. Nvidia sits upstream of all of it. At the same time, the Dow shed 628 points on Tuesday, Brent flirted with $99 on new US strikes against Iran and Houthi damage to Saudi facilities, and the 10-year Treasury yield is near 4.8%. Two regimes are fighting for the price of AI capex.

Today is event day. Apple’s foldable reveal at 10:30 PM IST is the biggest scheduled catalyst on the tape, and it lands with the stock already up into the print. That combination usually favours a fade in the hour after. The bigger question is whether tonight’s headlines can pull the Nasdaq higher through Friday’s CPI print and into next Wednesday’s Fed decision. If oil breaks $100 first, everything else waits.

            Bullish Factors

            • AI compute demand curve is steepening. Nebius said visibility now runs 24 months out, previously 18. Four customer wins this year averaged $1 billion each and landed on technical performance, not price. Blackwell auction pricing is up 15% to 20% against prior list rates.
            • Dell prints fresh 52-week high. Stock touched $538.47 intraday Tuesday and closed $533.88, up 1.86%. Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue was $47 billion, 58% higher year on year, beating $44.9 billion consensus. The AI server backlog is $95 billion. S&P 100 inclusion on September 21 brings passive flow.
            • CoreWeave sits under a Nvidia backstop. A $2 billion equity stake, a $6.3 billion service commitment through 2032, and a plan to build 5 gigawatts of AI factories by 2030. Balance-sheet risk is capped by that Jensen relationship.
            • Rocket Lab de-risked space solar. IMM Apex delivers 31.5% conversion efficiency, is 40% lighter, and is germanium-free. It is a drop-in replacement for existing systems, so satellite builders do not need to retool.
            • Corporate bond market is writing the check. US high-grade issuance is on track for a record ~$215 billion in September. August posted $145.2 billion, itself a record. Over $410 billion has already been borrowed this year to fund data-center and AI capex.

            Bearish Factors

            • Oil is squeezing back toward $100. WTI traded above $93 and Brent tested $99 Tuesday, the sixth straight up day for WTI. Fresh US strikes on Iran and Houthi attacks on Saudi facilities are the drivers. Inflation risk is back on the table.
            • Dow lost 628 points Tuesday. That is 1.18% off in one session, the biggest single-day drop since August. Amgen fell 10.15%, Salesforce 3.94%, Home Depot 2.32%. Old-economy names took the hit while the Nasdaq stayed flat.
            • Fed hike odds are firming again. August payrolls came in at 162,000 last Friday, roughly three times what economists expected. The September 17 decision is priced as a coin flip on hold vs hike now, up from a lean toward cuts a month ago.
            • Apple stock has run into the event. Product-reveal tapes historically fade in the hour after the keynote. Ternus is untested as a stage host, and the foldable pricing carries real risk of disappointing.
            • CoreWeave is not profitable for two more years. The stock has an Nvidia floor, but sustained negative cash flow means real dilution risk if the credit window closes or AI capex slows.

            Asian Markets This Morning

Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading near 65,143, down about 0.19% at the time of writing. The yen strengthened to its highest level in almost seven months after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned traders not to bet on further yen weakness. A stronger yen weighs on Japan’s exporters, and Advantest, MUFG, Nintendo, and Fast Retailing were the biggest single-name drags.

South Korea’s Kospi is up about 1.22% near 7,039, powered again by the memory and AI-server complex. Samsung and SK Hynix continue to catch a bid on the read-across from Nebius and Dell. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is broadly flat, watching the oil tape and China property. Broadly, rising crude is the swing variable across Asia today.

            What Moved Wall Street Yesterday

US markets closed lower Tuesday coming out of the Labor Day weekend. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 628.18 points, or 1.18%, to 52,786.07. The S&P 500 dropped 0.58% to 7,673.52, and the Nasdaq Composite gave back 0.32% to 26,421.41. The Russell 2000 slipped 0.52% to 2,960.20. The VIX climbed 2.75% to 15.72.

Oil was the single biggest macro driver. WTI extended a sixth straight session of gains, its longest run since March, on new US strikes against Iran and Houthi attacks that damaged Saudi energy infrastructure. Brent tested $99. That combination revived inflation concerns and put upward pressure on Treasury yields.

On the ticker board, Dell was the standout, closing at $533.88 up 1.86%, printing an intraday 52-week high at $538.47. Apple traded up around 3% intraday, its first session with John Ternus in the CEO seat after Tim Cook moved to executive chairman on September 1. Qualcomm and Amazon Web Services announced an AI infrastructure partnership. OpenAI unveiled Astra, which Jim Cramer flagged as the day’s real market story. Amgen was the worst single-name Dow drag at 10.15% down, followed by Salesforce at 3.94% and Home Depot at 2.32%.

            Assets in Focus

            AAPL

Apple’s event goes live at 10:30 PM IST tonight from Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. This is John Ternus’s first launch since taking over as CEO on September 1, and it will be the first time the company reveals a foldable iPhone. Expected lineup: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone. The standard iPhone 18 has been pushed to spring 2027 alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2, which means tonight is a pure premium-tier reveal with no cheap-model dilution. Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and updated AirPods are likely to appear alongside. iOS 27 public release is expected around September 14, and pre-orders are likely to land on Friday, September 12, since Apple typically avoids activity on the September 11 anniversary. Watch foldable pricing, any Apple Intelligence commentary, and follow-through on Nasdaq futures overnight.

            NVDA

Nvidia is the shared upstream of every AI-infrastructure story on the tape this week. Nebius said at Goldman Sachs Communacopia that Blackwell auction pricing cleared 15% to 20% above prior list rates, and customer visibility now extends into Q1 and Q2 2028. Nvidia already holds a 9.3% stake in Nebius and a $2 billion stake in CoreWeave, and just committed to guarantee up to $105 billion in OpenAI lease and power obligations for the Ohio campus. The read on price is direct: pricing power is flowing to the infrastructure layer, and the shared upstream is where it compounds. Next single catalyst is the next Nvidia earnings print in November.

            DELL

Dell Technologies is the single most talked-about AI hardware name of 2026. The stock printed a fresh 52-week high at $538.47 intraday Tuesday and closed $533.88, up 1.86%. It is now up more than 327% over the past 12 months, giving it a market cap around $342 billion. Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue was $47 billion, up 58% year on year, well above the $44.9 billion consensus. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $7.04 versus $4.97 expected. The AI server backlog stands at $95 billion. On September 21, Dell joins the S&P 100 alongside Palo Alto, Arista, and SanDisk, which drags in accelerated passive buying into that date. Silver Lake, still a director and 10% owner, sold about $24.7 million of stock on September 3, which is worth monitoring if the pattern repeats.

            PLTR

Palantir surfaced explicitly in the Nebius Goldman Sachs commentary, named as the partner helping Nebius push beyond AI-native customers into the enterprise account book. That is a genuine new distribution vector for both companies. Palantir has been in a slow grind since the summer and continues to trade on enterprise-AI narrative, so any additional enterprise partnership headline tends to compound.

            NSDQ100

The Nasdaq 100 sits just below breakout levels ahead of Apple’s event tonight. Tech held up better than the broader Dow on Tuesday, and the tape is watching Apple, the Friday CPI print, and the September 17 Fed decision in that sequence. If oil crosses $100 before Friday, the index has a lot to absorb.

            Index Levels to Watch

            • Nasdaq 100: Watching a hold above ~23,500 on the downside, and a break above ~24,000 on the upside for follow-through.
            • S&P 500: Support zone in the 7,600 to 7,620 area, resistance at the 7,720 area and then the recent 7,745 high.
            • Dow Jones Industrial Average: Support around 52,500 after Tuesday’s break, resistance at 53,200 for a recovery attempt.
            • Nikkei 225: Watching whether it holds 65,000 as yen strength continues. Above 65,600 opens up a retest of 66,000.
            • Kospi: 7,000 zone is now support after the reclaim. Above 7,050 keeps the AI-infra bid alive into US open.
