A complete guide to accessing your TDS deduction records on CoinDCX.
Every time you sell or transfer crypto on CoinDCX, 1% TDS is automatically deducted at source. Over a financial year, this can add up to a significant amount — and if your total tax liability is lower than what was deducted, you’re entitled to a refund. Your TDS Summary Report is the document that makes this possible.
What is TDS on crypto, and why does it matter?
Under Section 194S of the Income Tax Act, a Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) of 1% is applied on every sale or transfer of Virtual Digital Assets (VDAs) — including crypto and NFTs — effective July 1, 2022. CoinDCX deducts this automatically on your behalf and deposits it with the Income Tax Department.
Your TDS Summary Report is a consolidated record of all TDS deducted across your trades in a financial year. You’ll need this to file your ITR correctly and to claim a refund if eligible.

Important Notes
- TDS is a government-mandated tax and is not a fee charged by CoinDCX.
- The deducted TDS amount is deposited with the Government of India against your PAN.
- You may adjust or claim a refund of excess TDS while filing your Income Tax Return – ITR, subject to applicable tax regulations.
- For tax-related guidance specific to your situation, please consult a Chartered Accountant – CA or tax advisor.
Q17. My TDS amount is not matching. What should I do?
You can verify your TDS deductions by comparing the amounts shown in your Trade Report and TDS Certificate (Form 16A). We recommend reviewing the TDS amounts quarter-wise to identify any discrepancies. If the TDS amount does not match:
- Check the TDS amount for each quarter in both the Trade Report and TDS Certificate.
- If you find any mismatch in a particular quarter, please contact our support team and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Q18. What if the amount matches in my TDS Certificate but not on the Income Tax Portal?
If the TDS amount matches in your Trade Report and TDS Certificate but differs from what you see on the Income Tax Portal, there is generally no impact on your ability to claim the TDS. This is because the Income Tax Portal may display the cumulative TDS credited against your PAN for the financial year, which can differ from quarter-wise records. You can continue to file your Income Tax Return – ITR and claim the applicable TDS using your TDS Certificate – Form 16A.
If you still have concerns regarding the discrepancy, please reach out to our support team for further assistance.
Q19. TDS was deducted by CoinDCX, but I cannot see it in my tax records. Why?
TDS credits may take some time to reflect on the Income Tax Portal after being deposited with the government. If the issue persists after the applicable reporting cycle, please contact support for assistance.

If a delisted token is converted to USDT as part of the delisting process, applicable TDS may be deducted as per prevailing tax regulations before the proceeds are credited to your account.
