Bain Capital Ventures Launches $560 Million, Crypto Fund
For the past seven years, Bain Capital Ventures has been investing in crypto, including crypto lender BlockFi Inc., decentralized-finance lender Compound, and the Digital Currency Group, which operates a number of crypto-related firms. And Bain has now announced the launch of a $560 million crypto fund, which will be used to invest in everything from crypto companies to decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) in areas like Layer 1 blockchains (which compete with Ethereum) and storage.
The fund will be deployed in the next two to three years and will invest in about 30 enterprises. And, as many crypto businesses desire, it plans to be a far more engaged investor than usual.

World of Women Teams Up With The Sandbox for Web3 Inclusivity
The Sandbox, a decentralized gaming environment, and subsidiary of Animoca Brands announced a collaboration with the World of Women (WoW), a community that mints NFTs that promote women and diversity. The Sandbox will dedicate a $25 million grant to boosting the representation of women in Web3 areas as part of the WoW Foundation’s joint launch.
The WoW Foundation will provide a 2×2 Sandbox plot for the WoW Museum, which will serve as a showroom as well as a university with free online classes for getting started in Web3. During the debut of Sandbox’s Alpha 2 game, it will also support the WoW Academy, a hub for projects and artists, as well as 10,000 3D interoperable avatars.

Avalanche Foundation’s ‘Multiverse’ Incentive Program To Invest Up to $290M
The “Avalanche Multiverse” will be funded with up to four million AVAX tokens or around $290 million at the time of writing. The program will work to expand its “subnet” capability, which aids in the development of Avalanche-based application-specific blockchains. Subnets are integrally integrated with Avalanche’s broader ecosystem, are infinitely scalable, and allow for unique implementations — or the addition of functionality from other chains.
The program and investments of Avalanche Multiverse will be divided into at least six phases to support new cohorts and initiatives, but will not be limited to a certain time frame. It is a non-profit organization administered independently of Ava Labs.
