Not all tokens on CoinDCX carry the same level of risk. While some are well-established and liquid, others may show weaker signals in areas like trading volume, liquidity, or project activity, something that wasn’t clearly visible earlier.
The Token Under Review tag addresses this by highlighting risk tokens, giving you better context before you buy, hold, or make any decision, without restricting access or trading. The token under review tag is not permanent, and it can be removed once health indicators improve.
What Triggers a ‘Token Under Review’ Tag?
A token is placed under review when it shows higher-than-average risk signals across key areas such as: Liquidity, Price Volatility, Trading activity, Market Standing & Rankings, User Activity on CoinDCX, On-Chain & Community Signals, and Project-level signals.
These indicators are monitored continuously, and the tag reflects the current state of the token, not a permanent classification. If these signals improve over time, the Token Under Review tag is automatically removed.
The goal is simple: give you better context before you trade. The tag does not restrict buying, selling, or holding; it simply helps you make more informed decisions.
Where Does the Tag Appear?
The ‘Token Under Review’ Tag shows up across three parts of the app, each serving a slightly different purpose.
On the token detail page
An amber banner sits above the Buy and Sell buttons whenever a token is under review. It is persistent; it stays visible as long as the token carries a review status. This is the first place most users will encounter it, and it is designed to give you a moment of context before you act.
On the order form (Buy side only)
When you tap Buy on a monitored token, a short consent sheet appears before the order form opens. This step does not appear when you sell. Selling is always direct. If you want to exit a monitored position, the app does not add any extra steps. That is intentional. CoinDCX never creates friction on the way out.
In your Portfolio
If you already hold a monitored token, a small orange dot appears next to it in your Portfolio view. Tapping the dot opens a summary of all your flagged holdings. From there, you can tap into any token’s detail page and see the amber banner at the top. This matters for existing holders. If a token you bought earlier gets placed under review, you will see it clearly marked the next time you open your Portfolio, without having to look for it.
The One-Time Consent: What It Is and Why It Is There
The first time you tap Buy on a monitored token, a consent sheet slides up. It takes a few seconds, tick the box, tap Accept, and you are in. After that, if you buy the same monitored token again, the consent step does not repeat. The system remembers your acknowledgement per token, so the flow stays lightweight once you have confirmed you understand the risk.
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, your acknowledgement is saved to your device, so you have to repeat it.
One clarification worth making: the consent step exists on Buy specifically because buying a monitored token is a decision to increase exposure to a higher-risk asset. Selling reduces that exposure, so it does not need the same checkpoint.
Token Under Review Tags Can Be Removed
This is an important detail. The token under review tag is not permanent, and it is not a one-way door. If a token’s signals improve, better liquidity, stronger trading activity, and healthier project indicators, the tag comes off automatically. No announcement. No friction. It simply stops showing.
This means the review reflects the current state of a token, not a verdict on its future. Plenty of tokens that pass through a monitoring period go on to stabilise and continue trading normally on the platform.
What Token Under Review Is Not
- It is not a delisting notice. Delisting is a separate decision with its own separate communication process. If a token is ever removed from CoinDCX, users receive an explicit, dedicated announcement well in advance. The Review Tag and a delisting notice are completely different things; they do not appear together, and one does not imply the other.
- It is not about maintenance. If a token has a temporary deposit or trading pause for technical reasons, that is communicated through maintenance messaging. Reviewing is about risk profile, not technical availability.
- It does not apply to Futures, SIP, or Earn. In this version, the Reviewing Tag appears on Spot only, token detail pages, the Buy order form, and Portfolio.
What You Should Do If You Hold a Monitored Token
Nothing is required. The tag in your Portfolio is informational; it is there so you have visibility, not because CoinDCX is asking you to take any specific action.
If you decide to buy more of a monitored token, the consent step will appear. If you decide to sell, you can do so directly with no additional steps. If you decide to hold and wait, that is entirely your call.
Open the CoinDCX app, go to your Portfolio, and check whether any of your holdings are currently flagged. The orange dot makes it easy to spot at a glance.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does a Reviewing Tag mean the token is about to be delisted?
No, Reviewing and delisting are separate. A token can carry a reviewing tag and remain on the platform indefinitely. If a token is being removed, CoinDCX will communicate that through a separate, dedicated notice. The alert you saw in the app is accurate, monitored tokens carry higher risk indicators and should be approached with caution and your own research
2. Why do I see the consent sheet every time I buy a monitored token?
You only see it once per token, the first time you buy after the token enters review. After that, the consent is remembered and the flow stays lightweight.
3. Can a Review Tag disappear on its own?
No. Deposits into monitored tokens are credited to your Spot wallet normally. After the deposit lands, the token will show monitoring markers in your Portfolio. No consent is required at deposit time.
4. Can a Review Tag disappear on its own?
Yes. If the token’s risk signals normalise, the tag is removed automatically. Review reflects the current state of a token, it can go either way.
5. Does the tag show on Futures or SIP?
Not in this version. The Token Under Review Tag is currently on Spot only, token detail pages, the Buy order form, and Portfolio.
