Curve DAO token has pushed back toward $0.24 after Curve Finance switched on CRV rewards for three new LlamaLend V2 lending markets. Borrowing activity, crvUSD minting and DeFi sector flows have all moved in the same direction over the past month. Here is what changed and which levels traders are watching next.
Currently, Curve DAO token is trading near $0.24, roughly ₹23, after Curve Finance began directing CRV emissions to three new LlamaLend V2 lending markets from 6 August 2026. The move followed a July in which crvUSD borrowing costs fell by almost two thirds and borrower demand rose. CRV coin has added close to 17% over seven days on daily turnover of about $42 million across major data aggregators. The next test is the cycle high near $0.265, with $0.20 to $0.21 the floor buyers have defended repeatedly.

Why Is CRV Rising Today?
Curve gauges decide which pools and lending markets receive CRV emissions. On 6 August, three LlamaLend V2 markets began paying out those rewards, giving liquidity providers a fresh reason to deposit and making veCRV voting power more valuable. Because veCRV is created only by locking CRV, new gauges tend to lift demand for the token itself.
Those markets were approved through governance in stages. Curve activated crvUSD borrowing against sDOLA and sfrxUSD on 21 July with caps of $12.4 million and $28.4 million, then deployed a syrupUSDC market on 24 July with a $51.8 million cap that cleared its vote on 2 August. Each market routes a 10% admin fee back to the DAO.
Lending Has Become Curve’s Fastest Growing Business
Curve’s own weekly report for the period ending 6 August shows Llamalend total value locked up 4.9% to $146 million, borrowing up 7.4% to $86.3 million and supply up 8.3% to $62.8 million. Lending was the fastest growing leg of the protocol that week.
crvUSD, Curve’s dollar-pegged stablecoin, sits behind much of that growth. The debt-weighted average borrow rate across mint markets dropped from 5.6% at the end of June to 2.0% at the end of July. Borrower-minted crvUSD grew 29% to $36.7 million over the same month, and the collateral backing those loans rose 43% to $70.5 million. Cheaper credit attracts borrowers, and borrowers pay interest that flows to holders who lock CRV.
DeFi Money Is Turning Selective Again
The rally is not happening in isolation. Grayscale’s quarterly rebalance, announced on 5 August, left Curve DAO Token at 4.42% of its Decentralized Finance Fund alongside Uniswap, Ondo, Aave, Ethena and Lido. A weighting like that does not move price by itself, but it confirms CRV crypto still sits on the shortlist institutions use to express a DeFi view.
Levels Worth Marking on the CRV Chart
Resistance starts at the cycle high near $0.265, then the $0.27 to $0.28 band where earlier swing highs cluster. A daily close above there would be the first credible sign the recovery has staying power.
On the downside, $0.22 is the immediate shelf, followed by the $0.20 to $0.21 demand zone that has absorbed selling since June. A break under $0.1715, the June low, would undo the current structure. Supply is a headwind: roughly 2.22 million CRV is still issued every week, so the token needs steady demand simply to hold ground.
Longer-dated scenarios are covered in our Curve DAO price prediction breakdown.
The Bottom Line for CRV Holders
Curve DAO Token has an actual fundamental story this month, which separates it from purely technical altcoin bounces. The caveat is scale: Llamalend borrowing of $86.3 million is small next to a market cap near $370 million, so the revenue path is real but gradual. Track weekly gauge votes, crvUSD minting growth and whether the DAO raises borrow caps on the V2 markets.

FAQs
1. Why is CRV rising today?
CRV token is rising today because Curve switched on rewards for three new LlamaLend V2 markets from 6 August 2026, while crvUSD borrowing and Llamalend deposits both grew. Cheaper borrowing costs and renewed DeFi interest added to the price surge of CRV.
2. What are LlamaLend V2 rewards?
LlamaLend V2 rewards are CRV emissions directed to chosen Curve lending markets through gauge votes. Liquidity providers in those markets earn CRV on top of interest, which raises the value of locking CRV for veCRV voting power.
