Wallets attributed to Trump Media transferred 2,628 bitcoin, worth about $165 million, in two transactions on Saturday. That takes cumulative outflows to 7,281 BTC of an original 11,542. The roughly 4,261 coins left in tagged addresses match, almost exactly, the amount the company pledged as collateral against its convertible notes.

Trump Media Bitcoin Transfer at a Glance

Bitcoin traded near $63,000 on Monday, slipping below that level during the session. Trump Media built its position for about $1.37 billion at an average of $118,522 a coin. The company has not said whether the latest transfers are sales or custody movements, and its second-quarter 10-Q is the document that will settle it.

Bitcoin Leaves Trump Media Wallets Again

Blockchain analytics platforms tracking addresses linked to the company recorded 2,628 bitcoin leaving on Saturday, held across two transactions. Roughly 4,261 coins remain in the tagged wallets, worth about $268 million at current prices.

The transfers follow a pattern set in December. The company moved 2,650 BTC worth around $205 million to the same destination in May, when bitcoin traded near $77,341, and 2,000 BTC worth about $175 million in January with the price near $87,378. Each transfer has gone out into a lower market than the one before.

Trump Media’s Free Bitcoin Treasury Is Gone

The remaining figure is the most specific data point available. Trump Media’s first-quarter filing recorded 4,260.73 bitcoin under line as collateral for its convertible notes as of 31 March, restricted from distribution or withdrawal until those notes mature by 29 May 2028.

The tagged wallets now hold roughly 4,261 bitcoins. The company has not confirmed the two are the same coins, and the tracked addresses may not capture its full holdings. If they are the same, the portion of the treasury it can freely move is gone.

Why On-chain Data Cannot Prove Trump Media’s Sale

The destination is one of Trump Media’s two named custodians, and that same platform also operates a trading venue. A deposit there is exactly what a custody transfer looks like. It is also exactly what a sale looks like. The on-chain record is identical in both cases.

One analytics firm treated the outflows as disposals at an average of $74,855 a coin. Measured against the original cost basis, that would imply roughly $318 million in realised losses and about $237 million unrealised on the remainder. Those figures follow from assuming the transfers were sales, which has not been confirmed.

Trump Media’s SEC Filing Will Confirm Sale or Custody

The second-quarter 10-Q resolves it. A sale is recorded as a realised loss on the income statement. A custody transfer does not appear in the accounts at all. Everything the wallets have done since December has to land in one of those two places. The filing arrives against weak operating numbers. Trump Media reported a $405.9 million net loss in the first quarter on revenue of $871,200, with $368.7 million of that loss coming from markdowns on digital asset and equity holdings.

What Bitcoin Investors Should Watch Next

Beyond the filing, the remaining 4,261 coins are the marker. If that balance is pledged collateral, it should not move before the notes mature in 2028. Any transfer from those addresses would indicate the tagged wallets are not capturing the full position.

Trump Media did not respond to a request for comment on the transfers or the collateral, leaving the filing as the only source that can categorise the bitcoin movements.

Trump Media Bitcoin Holdings: The Bottom Line

The blockchain shows direction and volume: 7,281 coins out since December, 4,261 remaining, all of it to a single destination. It cannot show intent. Coverage describing these transfers as confirmed sales is drawing a conclusion the data does not support, and the accounts are the only place that distinction becomes visible. FAQs

            1. Did Trump Media sell its bitcoin?

Whether Trump Media sold its bitcoin is not yet confirmed. However, on-chain data shows wallets tied to the company moved 2,628 BTC to a platform that serves as both its custodian and a trading venue. On-chain data cannot distinguish a custody transfer from a sale, and the company has not commented.

            2. How much bitcoin does Trump Media still hold?

Trump Media still holds roughly 4,261 BTC sitting in tagged addresses, worth about $268 million with bitcoin near $63,000. That closely matches the 4,260.73 BTC pledged as collateral in its first-quarter filing.

            3. Why can blockchain data not confirm a sale?

Blockchain data cannot confirm a sale because it only records a token transfer, lacking context for intent, off-chain terms, and legal agreement. It proves funds moved, but not that a valid commercial exchange occurred.

            4. When will we know if Trump Media sold its bitcoin?

The second-quarter 10-Q will settle it. A sale is recorded as a realised loss on the income statement, while a custody transfer does not appear in the accounts at all. Every transfer made since December has to show up in one of those two places.
