The massive adoption of the crypto space since 2018 has also seen a wider audience with institutional investors joining the adopters. Furthermore, to strengthen the adoption rate, institutions had started to start investing in the crypto assets. As an attempt to further improve on facilitating enterprise, institutional, and government adoption of blockchain, Ava Labs has now joined hands with Amazon Web Services in order to offer crypto infrastructure via the AWS marketplace.
Ava Labs is the development team behind the crypto asset Avalanche, the native token of whose is AVAX.

Avalanche is a blockchain that has been optimized to support not only Web3 games but also NFTs. The AVAX blockchain also has a unique technology which is known as Subnets. These subnets work like a custom blockchains that has been built on Avalanche, while also having custom rulesets! They can even use their own token instead of Avalanche’s native AVAX for purposes like paying network gas fees!

According to the Subnet FAQ, a Subnet which is also referred to as Subnetwork, is a dynamic set of validators working together to achieve consensus on the state of a set of blockchains. Each of the blockchain is validated by exactly one Subnet. One interesting fact is, a Subnet has the capability to validate more than one blockchain!
In a statement, the VP and Global Head of Startups of AWS, Howard Wright said in a statement, “At AWS, we are all about bringing the most cutting-edge technologies to builders, no matter if they sit in a multi-million-dollar enterprise, a government office, or a dorm. The new capabilities brought by Avalanche enable us to do just that.”

As a part of the deal, AWS will also be helping Avalanche in a wider adoption of the blockchain. As stated by Wright, AWS will be helping Avalanche expand to “new geographies and customer segments” and “support new tooling for Avalanche’s infrastructure and ecosystem.” Here is the list of other activities that AWS and Ava Labs will be working on:
- Avalanche nodes will also be able to run in the AWS GovCloud for various government-related data storage.
- Apart from that, Ava Labs is also going to join AWS Activate and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to further reinforce the ties between Avalanche and AWS.
- According to the announcement, AWS is also looking at taking part in future Avalanche-related events like the Avalanche Summit, Avalanche Creates, and hackathons.
