Bitcoin’s Hashrate hits all-time high on its 13th Birthday 

The global mining hash rate for Bitcoin has hit an all-time high in the past week. The milestone was achieved as Bitcoin was nearing its 13th birthday or the day when the genesis block was first mined. 

Although Bitcoin enjoyed an all-time high in 2021 but did not perform that well as compared to other currencies. According to reports from Glassnode, The global mining hash rate of Bitcoin reached its highest level on January 1, 2022 topping 209.97 exhashes every second which is 209.97 quintillion hashes every second. 

Hashrate is nothing but a measure of the computational power used by the Bitcoin miners in their fight to win the rights to validate the next block in the blockchain system. There is tough competition among the miners because every new block grants block rewards to the miners in the form of a newly minted Bitcoin along with fees associated with the transaction of that block.

Brave Browser, the privacy-focused browser hits 50M monthly active users

According to the latests reports released by the privacy-focused Brave (BAT) browser, the number of monthly active user marks on its platform has surpassed 50.2 million. This is a brand new milestone hit by the company. According to the reports, the number of monthly active users grew 318.4% over the past 21 months. 

The platform has been setting its standards high since as of now it has 15.5 daily active users.

Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), a collection of coveted NFTs has generated sales worth more than $1 billion. The cumulative figure now stands at $1.03 billion for the 10,000 piece collection. 

This milestone was achieved by BAYC right after we entered New Year and the sales recorded a rough estimate of $55 million since January 1. The demand for digital apes surged among celebrities especially rappers in the closing week of 2021. Some of the big names on the list included Martin Garrix, Diplo, DJ Khaled, and Eminem. Rapper Eminem bought a gold jacketed specimen for $462000.
