CRYPTO CRASH – MARKET OVERVIEW

Total Crypto Market Cap | Source: Tradingview

The overall crypto market has managed to hold on to its levels over this weekend. However, it is significantly below its crucial resistance levels, so flipping those would be difficult to achieve. Crypto price is still marginally above the lowest points if we have a year to date view but other than that, all indications point to selling pressures across the board. Crypto price is well below the psychological support level of $1 trillion and also the 50 day moving average (marked in cyan).

Along with those, the Relative Strength Index for the overall crypto market cap is around 40 as of writing, which will bring about strong selling pressures too. Trading volumes over the last couple of days have been low too. Unless crypto price is able to breach through the 50 mark on the RSI and also the 50 day moving average, proper breakout would be very difficult. So overall things seem moderately bearish in the crypto market as of now.

BITCOIN PRICE TODAY

BTC/USD | Source: Tradingview

Bitcoin price so far has managed to sustain above the last remaining trendline support on the charts (marked in black), which also happens to be the lowest points YTD. Currently trading barley above the $19,000 mark, things seem better for BTC price than it was two weeks ago. But the fact of the matter is that Bitcoin price is still in a very dicey situation, threatening to break down below the YTD lows any time now.

Over the weekend, Bitcoin price had managed to gain some value but has lost most of it and is back to where it was four days ago once again. Trading volumes for Bitcoin has been low over the weekend too, suggesting underlying fear in the market. With the Relative Strength Index just below 45 as of writing, BTC price could be a better recovery candidate amongst the top cryptos. So for the king coin, the next couple of days are going to be extremely crucial, which also explains why trading volumes are low and possibly traders are waiting for a convincing directional signal before entering a trade.

ETHEREUM PRICE TODAY

ETH/USD | Source: Tradingview

Ethereum price too, like the overall crypto market cap and Bitcoin price has managed to sustain its levels over the weekend. However it must be noted that ETH price has managed to sustain above its immediate trendline support (marked in black) and is still well above the YTD lows, thanks to the incredible price rally it saw ahead of the Ethereum Merge. However, Ethereum price has lost most of its gains post the Merge despite the network upgrade taking place without a single hitch.

Technically, as mentioned earlier ETH price has managed to sustain above the crucial trendline support (marked in black). However, apart from that, the Relative Strength Index for Ethereum is below 40 as of writing, which would bring about strong selling pressures on the altcoin king. So overall, Ethereum seems to be the weaker option as of now.
